Bishop Jones was born to Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Jones in Shreveport, Louisiana. He has one sister, Ida J. Phillips, residing in Dallas, Texas. December 2, 1967, he was united in marriage with Linda M. Gill. He has three daughters: Toni, Katricia and Jaimee Jones.
Bishop Jones attended elementary and junior high school in Louisiana and Dallas. in 1967, he graduated from L.G. Pinkston High School in Dallas. He attended Allstate Business College for one year, ,and also attended Southern Bible Institute. He received his Doctor of Divinity from Rialto Bible College in Dallas.
Bishop began preaching in 1968 and was ordained in the ministry in 1971. He is the founder and Pastor of Truevine Holy Temple Church in Dallas, Texas. In 1978, he joined the Full Gospel Pentecostal Association. During the sixteen years in Full Gospel Pentecostal Association, he held the office of State Evangelist, District Evangelist, State Overseer, District Elder, Regional Overseer and the to Regional Bishop. In 1994, he founded the Full Gospel New Life Association (FGNL). He is the Presiding Bishop over this international ministry.
FGNL has churches in different cities in the United States and in Africa, with conferences in California, North Carolina and Texas. It holds its yearly convention for all of its church in the month of July. Each month there is a fellowship service for the churches in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
